The VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID-19) for Make-up Services is a knowledge-based qualification aimed at make-up artists, who need to understand the COVID-19 infection prevention methods required in order to maintain high levels of health and safety in the provision of their services. 

Learners will develop knowledge on the importance of social responsibility, the causes, transmission and effects of COVID-19, and the methods used to control transmission such as correct hand hygiene and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 

They will also gain an understanding of the safe working practices required in the professional make-up environment to protect themselves and the people they work with in regards to general infection prevention. 

PREREQUISTES
  • There are no prerequisites to enroll in this course, but students are encouraged to have some professional makeup training
  • This course is a prerequisite to take the ITEC International Makeup Certification 

MODULE 1
  • Understand the causes, transmission and effects of COVID-19. 
MODULE 2
  • Understand social responsibility for the make-up services sector in relation to COVID-19. 
    MODULE 3
    • Understand the controls necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
      MODULE 4
      • Understand the importance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Hand Hygiene and Personal Hygiene in the prevention of COVID-19.
        MODULE 5
        • Understand potential hazards and risks and the workplace procedures necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the professional make-up working environment.
          MODULE 6
          • Understand decontamination and waste management processes relevant to make-up services.
