The 2017 Billboard Music Awards, were held on Sunday May 21st at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas. The 3 hour long event was filled with superstar after superstar, and amazing fashion for days!
Nicki Minaj opened the show with a fabulous 9 minute performance. Nicki performed 4 songs her first was No Frauds with the help of Lil Wayne. David Guetta joined Nicki on stage with Light My Body Up. I was so excited when my favourite song came on next with Jason Derulo with Swalla. Then to finish up the opening act Nicki again did a quick costume change and went into Regret In Your Tears.
There was not a dry eye in the arena when Celine took the stage to celebrate Titanic's 20th year anniversary. As Celine belted her hit My Heart Will Go On, clips from the film played in the background.
Drake was the big winner of the night! Drake took home 13 awards making him the now artist with the most wins in a single year. Drake beat Adele's previous record of of 12.
Cher turned 71 years-old on May 20th Happy Belated Birthday! The music Icon performed for the first time since the 2002 ceremony, where she won the Billboard Music Artist Achievement Award. This time Cher was the recipient of The Icon award. Cher wore a clear bodysuit with a pink studded heart pasty, and an ultra-revealing ‘20s era flapper costume as she performed her classic smash Believe to start things off. After a brief intermission came an outfit switch-up. Back in her vintage black motorcycle jacket, lace bodysuit, knee-high boots and huge curly wig, Cher ran through her 1989 classic “If I Could Turn Back Time.”
